Hearing Test results should reveal, Abnormal Air Conduction Hearing Thresholds and Normal Bone Conduction Hearing Thresholds using Pure Tone Audiometry andType B or Type C tympanograms using middle ear analyzers.
Common diseases that has normal bone conduction thresholds are those individuals with conductive hearing loss such as atresia of the ear, microtia of the ear, infection of the external ear, infection of the middle ear and those who have obstruction in the air conduction pathway like tumor in the ear canal or impacted cerumen.
